In B.C., care and support are available from both publicly subsidized and private pay providers for people having difficulty coping with activities of daily living because of health-related problems or a life-threatening illness.

Contacting Interior Health when relatively healthy is recommended, so that if/when a problem arises, one is all set to implement services (without having to do all the paperwork while client is in duress). 

United Way's Better at Home program helps BC's older adults continue living independently in their own homes by providing simple,non-medical home support services. It's unique 'seniors planning for seniors' approach means older adults contribute to the design, operation, and evaluation of their local program.

The HAFI program provides financial assistance for home modifications that help eligible low-income British Columbians with mobility or health issues continue to live in their home.

The home owner grant reduces the amount of property tax you pay for your principal residence.
